The balance-sheet of the Union Insurance Company shows an available balance of 4s 7d, out of which the directors propose to devote £7bOo to the payment of tho usual dividend of 10 per cent , to place J>r2,500 to the reserve fund, and to carry forward to next year 4s 7d. The sheet shows a considerable increase over the previous year's business.
