DRUNKENNESS. Joseph Chaplin was charged with this qffence. Ho was found lying on the footpath in Cuba-Btreet yesterday afternoon, and to the arresting constable ho said "there was something the matter with his legs." The constable deemed it advisable to send for a doctor, who, on arrival, pronounced tho man to be drunk. Fined sa. A STOWAWAY. John Winn, formerly belonging to tho ship Hurunui, pleaded guilty to a charge of travelling from YVanganui to Wellington in the b.b. Huia, with intent to evade payment of his fare. Not content with a steerage passage, ho patronised the saloon. Ho was remanded till Wednesday. NEGLECTED CHILD. William Sanvrin, aged 12, was brought up under the Neglected and Criminal Children's Act, and remanded till Thursday. CIVIL CASES. Judgment Summonses.— J. Gibson and another v. P. H. Smith, £4 6a 9d (Mr. Izard for plaintiff), to pay forthwith, in default 28 days' imprisonment; G. Aldous v. Laurence, £1 16s, to pay within 14 days ; Moorhouse, Edwards and Cutten v. W. H. JkTClelland (Mr. Chapman for plaintiffs), £47 2s, to pay £10 per month. In the following cases, judgment was giv«»n for the plaintiffs with costs .— S. Levy v. E. Prince, £7 8s ; Greenfield and Stewart v. J. L. Moffit, £31 14s Id ; do v. T. Miller, £77 11s ; Ke.in and Co. v. W. Fordham, £2 3s 6d. In the case Sexton v. Sergeant (a claim for £50), the plaintiff was nonouited.
