A man named Pindel was brought up at the R.M Court yesterday on a charge of supposed lunacy, and remanded for meuieal examination. He made a determined attempt to commit suicide yesterday afternoon in his cell He had by some means secreted a little tin gem photograph, with whioh he opened the veine in hia left wrist and inflijted two or three bad gashes on his throit. He 1 at a good deal of blood before medical aid could be summoned. He is now confined in a padded room at the gaol, and is doing well.
