AUSTRALIAN. SECRETARYSHIP OF THE VICTORIAN RACING CLUB. [REUTERS TELEGRAMS.] Melbourne, 8th June.
In the Legislative Counpil to-day, the Reform Bill, aa amended in tho Legislative Assembly, came up for consideration, but the discussion was postponed until tomorrow. Tho secretaryship of the Victorian Racing Club, vacant by the death of the late Mr. R. C. Bagot, has been offered to Mr. Byron H. Moore, lessee of the Melbourne Exchange. It is thought that he will accept the post. Sailed — Union Company's steamer Rotorua, for the Bluff. Sydney, This Day. Arrived — Arawata, yesterday, from Auckland. The steamship Ocean, with 450 Chinese from Hongkong, left Port Darwin on Monday for Sydney. Albany, This Day. The P. and O. Company's steamship Cathay, with the inward Suez mail, dated London, 6th May, arrived in King George's Sound to-day.
