This Dat. (Before Mr. Edward Shaw, R.M.) THBFT. Catherine! O'JBrien, a young woaian, pleadod guilty to charges of having stolen, on tho 23cd inst , a lady's waterproof cloak, value 17s Gd, belonging to Messrs. Grave 3 and Fleming, but denied the theft of a shawl, value 18s Gd, tho property of the same firm. She farther admitted stealing a cap and saacer, worth Gd, belonging to William Davidson, on tho same day. She said she was drank when she stole the cloak and cap and saacer, bat did not remember anything about the shawl, the theft of whioh, however, was. on the evidence of Mr. Graves and Miss Rebecca Asher, clearly traced to her. The prisoner was sentenced to 28 days' hard labor on each charge, the sen ton Tea to ran concurrently. DRUNKENNESS AND INDECENCT. Kichard BelL, whoso previous conviotions reached a considerable number, was brought up on a warrant charged with drunkenness and an offence against deconcy. The pri« eoner, for whom Mr Forwood appeared, was sentenced to six weeks' hard labor. CIVIL CIBES. In the following cases judgment was given for the plaintiffs, with costs: — Greenfield and Stewart v. O. Howe, JB2 15s 9d ; S. W. Alcorn v. G. Fitzmaurice, £2 7s Id ; James Beid v. John Gurr, £o 14s ; C. Gamble v. G. Wills, j65 ; Strike and Co. v. T. M'Clel land, 17s sd; Jas. Pearco v. W. and A. Carter (Mr. JFitzherbert for plaintiff, Mr. Travers, sen., for defendant), £1 ; T. ttowe v. J. U. Lord, .£3 9t 6d. [Left sitting.]
