REPORTED DISTURBANCE BETWEEN THE NATIVES AND ARMED CONSTABULARY.
? [united pbesb association.] Haweba, Thjs Dat. There are rumors of a disturbance near Pungarehu between the Armed Constabulary and the natives. It is stated that the latter beat a constable and a civilian. The Armed Constabulary retaliated, and, it is stated, burnt a native whare. It is believed the matter has been reported to the Government, who have ordered an investigation.
