Wahganui. 7th May. Arrived, 3 p.m.— Oreti, from Wellington. Nhlhon. 9th May. Bailed, 2 a.m.— Stella, for Wellington. Foxton, Bth May. Arrived, 3 p.m.— Tui, from Wellington. The 8.8 liingarooma left Sydney on tho 28th April, called at Russell, Auckland, Gieborne, and Napier, and arrived here at 7 30 yesterday morning. She soiled again this afternoon for Melbourne via southern ports and Hobart. The B.s. Wakatipu left Sydney on Tuesday last, at 6.30 p.m., and arrived here at 10.30 last night. Made Gape Farewell at 9 a.m. yesterday when sha experienced very thick weather, necessitating the eugiLes being stopped and soundings taken, bhe iofb again this afternoon lor southern ports. The s.s. Penguia left Lyttelton on Saturday night, and arrived here at 1 p m. yesterday. She lelt again this afternoon for Picton and Nelson. The b.b. Go-Ahead arrived yesterday morning from Lyttelton and Kaikoura. She leaves for the East Coaßt to-day. Tho schooner Fleetwing arrived yesterday with a cargo of coal from Greymouth, The steamers Manawatu and Huia arrived y«Bterday.fcom Wanganui— the former at 6 a.m. and the latter at 630 p.m. They return to same portto-morrow, Thep.s. Wallace arrived yesterday morning from West Coast, Nelson and Picton. She left again this atternoon for Nelson and West Coast The steamers Mohaka and Napier arrived from Blenheim yesterday and return to Bame port this evening. The Bteamer Patea came in from Patea yesterday. She returns to Patea to-morow. The schooner Keward.from Lyttelton, arrived on Saturday night, and the three-masted schooner E Her ton came in about the some time from Greymnuth. The Btouinbr» iui and Stormbird for Foxton and Kiwi for K^st (Joast, sailed on Saturday, after the PobT was published. The two first earned return to-morrow. H.M.S. Wolverene leaves here to-morrow for Sydney. The Stella should arrive from the North this evening. As showing the amount of work got through by the whari and harbor authorities in Lyttelton, we are informed by a gentleman who arrived yesterday that there were 91,000 sacks of grain shipped duflDg the week ending Saturday last. A southern paper says :— " The loss of the Tararua has caused the Union Oompany to make the following arrangements :— Communication with Melbourne will be made as per time table. The Hero will leave Melbourne about Thursday, May 12th in place of the Tararua, coming via Bluff, Lyttelton and Wellington, and tnence via Greymouth and Hokitika to Newoastle and Melbourne. The Albion will take up the running from Port Chalmers North to Auckland, as arranged for the Tararua in the time-table for this month. The Albion is being put in first-class order, so that no interruption or incnyonienoe is likely to be experienced by the public in consequence of the loss of the Tararua. Should any hitch occur the company have the Hero, which could be withdrawn from her present speoial service and put on the main line. Word has been cabled home by the company to have tho new steamer Manipori finished without delay, and she will, it is expected, arrive in tha colony by November next. The ss. Taiaroa is to go North on Monday in place of the VVanaka, as the laßt-named steamer is to be overhauled in dock." The Grafton arrives from the South tomorrow and leaves for West Coast same day. The Government Bteamer Stella arrived in harbor this afternoon from the lighthouses of the North Island.
