PROPOSED GOVERNMENT PARCEL POST.

♦ [united pebes association.] Napieb, 29th April. The Herald is in a position to state that the Government proposes to establish a parcels delivery system throughout the colony. It will be limited to packages not exceeding 141bs. in weight. The present proposal is to make a uniform charge, irrespective of distance,- the object being to facilitate the carriage of small parcels, especially between places unconnected by rail. [On making enquiry to-day in the proper quarter, we were assured that there is no foundation for the report above referred to. —Ed. E.P. I
