LORD BEACONSFIELD'S FUNERAL. THE TUECO-GREEK DIFFICULTY. IBEUTER'S TCL2GRAM3. | London, ISth April. Per Merchant Shipping and Underwriters' Association : — Arrived — Ships J. W. Parker from Lyttelton (11th Jannary); Wave Queen, from Napier (23rd Docember). 20th April. The eiecutore of the will of the late Earl of Beaconsfield here declined a proposal made by the Eight Hon. tf. E Gladstone that the funeral of the deceased should bo publicly performed. The will of the late Earl directs that his funeral should be of the most simple character, and that his body should be interred in his wife's vault at Hughenden. In consequence of the continued difficulty in the way of a settlement of the TurcoGreek frontier ques>tion, the Powors have now made a proposal to th<» Governments of the two countries that a convention should be held under their auspices, with a view to bring about a complete an-1 fiual determination of the frontier difficulty. Nkw York, 20th April. The American harvest prospects are unfavorable, owing to tho crops generally having been severely damaged by frost.
