"VTOTICE is hereby given that the City .131 Council will, at their next ordinary meeting, to be held on Thursday, the 21st April, make a GENERAL RATE of One Shilling in the Pound on all rateable property within the city, for the period commencing Ist April, 1881, and terminating 3lßt March, 1882. Also, a WATER RATE, as under for the ¦ame period : — 5 per cent, on annual value of all buildings used as dwelling houses to which water is laid on. 2£ per cent, on annual va'ueof all buildings used as dwelling houses to which water is not laid on, but situated within 100 yards of any Corporation water pipes 2£ per cent, on annual value of all buildings used as stores, warehouses, or for any other purpose except as dwelling-houses. Also, that the Estimates of Income and Expenditure for tho above period, and the Rate Books, are now open for inspection. Also, that the above RATES will be PAYABLE in two equal instalments— the firat on tho 15th day of MAY, 1881, and the second on the 15th day of NOVEMBER, 1881. Also, that the Special Rate of 3d in the £ for payment of interest on the City Improvements Loan for the period mentioned above will likewise be due and payable on the same dates, viz., 15th May and 15th November.
