RUMORED STAMP ROBBERIES IN WELLINGTON.

Some rather sensational rumors have been in circulation to-day, relative to certain alleged thefts of stampß to a considerable amount. The report ia to the effect that deedit prepared in the office of a well-known local solicitor were duly stamped and Bent out, but that accident led to a discovery that the stamps were subsequently stolen from the deeds and resold, this practice being carried on for a number of years unsuspected. It is said that the robberies amount to several hundred pounds. It is further rumored that one or two arrests are to be made immediately in connection with the affair.
