IMPORTANT SALE OF COAL MINE, IRON BAILS, PLANT, FREEHOLD AND LEASEHOLD PROPERTY, &c. By Order of the Wallsend Coal Company (Limited), of Collingwood. THE undersigned has received instructions from the Wallsend Coal Company (Limited), of Collingwood to sell by public auction, at the Nelson Auction Rooms, Nelson, on Saturday, 9th April, at 12 o'clock— The COAL MINE, with iron tramways, containing about 110 tons rails, wharf, barge, trucks, leasehold and freehold property and plant, and all the other requisites for a coal mine, of which the following is a brief description : — Lease from the Crown of one hundred and sixty aerrs for twenty-one years from Ist January, 1870, at a royalty of 2 per cent., but not lees than .£l6 a year. The coal seams, five in number, have been cut at right angles by a main tunnel 7x5 For shipping the coal there is a wharf 7 chains 45 feet long, built principally of the best timber, with large bnnkers for holding coal to shoot into vessels loading alongside. The freehold consists of two-and-half acres and thirteen sections of the Township of Ferntown, near the wharf, on which is Manager's house, dwellings for laborers, and all similar requisites. The Mine has been worked up to a recent date on tribute, and given a good return. The coal is considered amongst the best produced in the Australian Colonies. The upset price is J>4so, and with that exception the above will be Hold in one lot without reserve.
