The total receipts on acoount of the Property Tax at the chief offices in the Colony up to this morning were as follow : — Canterbury .£46,892 Otago 38,973 Wellington 29,244 Auckland 28,505 Hawke's Bay 10,120 Nelson 6,872 Southland 6,370 Waitaki 5,978 Total .£172,954 This is exclusive of the receipts at the various country post offices, which will not come in for a day or two, and which are expected to bring up the total amount to nearly, if not quite, J5200.000.
