A COMPLAINT FROM CARTERTON.
». TO TH« KUITOB OP THX EVENING POST. Sir— ln justice to our fellow settlers, would you be kind enough to ventilate the following facts :— A settler died suddenly at his own house, and was allowed to remain to decompose thirty-six hours, and then the Coroner issued his warrant for removal to the nearest hotel. Sir, I would ask you if it would have not answered the interests of all parties concerned to have allowed the body to have remained at the deceased's own house, instead of having caused the unpleasantness of having the body removed into the hotel, which the horrible stench rendered quite uninhabitable, penetrating, as it did, to every part of the house, and driving all the people out. Surely there could be no reason for this objectionable proceeding. ,-?H> I am, Ac., ; , "?£.- ' Cabtkbton.
