THE WANGANUI REGATTA.
I UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.! Wanganui, This Dat. The annual Regatta was held yesterday in beautiful weather. In the Maiden Race two boats competed, both belonging to local clubs. The race was won by the Wanganui Club. The Scullers' Race was won by Batkin, of Wellington. The Senior Fours, inrigged, was won by the Foxton crew, beating the Wanganui h owing Club. Tho Junior Fours, ou trigged, was won by the Wanganui Club's Tiger Lilly, boating the other local club and the Foxton crew. The Inrigged Race, for men under 10 stone, was won by Foxton, beating the Wanganui Union crew. Junior Fours, inrigged, was won by the Wanganui Club's Rata, beating tho Foxton crew and another local crew. The Ladies' Plate, for senior fours, on trigged, was the principal race of the day, and produced a splendid contest between the Wanganui Club's Mataiand the Foxton Club's Dolly Varden. The boats were level for nearly the whole way until within 50 yards of the winning post, when the Foxton crew gave up, thoroughly pumped out, leaving the Wanganui men to finish easily.
