The wecther was fine. The combined team went first to the wiokets, and, when play closed for the day, were all out for 197 — Massie, with 80, and Bannerman, with 64, were top scores. When the Btnmpa were drawn for the day, the Australians had scored 59 runs with the loss of one wicket.
