When going up to the post, Astronomer bolted right away, and had gone nearly half a mile when he threw his rider. Several false starts were made, bnt at last the field got away to a beautiful start, Bore leading. As they passed the stand The Field was second, Hero third, and Satellite fourth, and Sir George last, going easily. They kept this order until Satellite foil, and Bore then led into the straight, and a grand race ensued, Roro, Sir George, and Hero making a splendid fight Kore maintained the lead until abreast of the stand, when Sir George showed euddenly to the front, send won by a head, Hero making a good third. Forced Handicap.— Sir Geotfge, 1 ; Bore, 2. Licensed Victuallers' Plate,— Orlando, 1 ; Liability, 2. Consolation.— The Field, 1 ; Hero, 2.
