This Day.
The University Senate sat at 10 o'olock thiß morning. Present— The Chancellor, Vioe-Chancellor, His Lordship the Bishop of Auckland, Professors Shand and Brown, and Revs. Habens, Fraser, Johnston, Andrew, Bruce, Curtis, and Paterson. The following resolutions were carried :—": — " That the thanks of the Senate be tendored to Sir William Fitzherbert for the use of the General Assembly Library accorded to members of th» Senate during their meeting." "That in the probable event of a bill for the redistribution of seats being brought before Parliament next session , the Chancellor be requested to call the attention of the Government to the claims of the University for a member." '• That it be remitted to a committee to consider the manner of awarding the senior scholarships announoed ; and also whether any supplementary scholarships oan be awarded for the year." ' ' That for the future a year's notice be given of any proposed changes in the statutes and regulations of the calandar. ' ' The Senate then wont into committee to consider the Chancellor's report.
