THE Uncooked Potato is tinder ground, and nearly everybody is waiting for some other body to turn it up, or for Bornething to turn up to improve trade. I will tell you how I manage to get such a large business. lam not always grumbling and fault-finding, and predicting bad times. I buy my goods like a man who understands his business ; no ten yardß of this and five yards of that, but if the goods are new, good, and cheap, I buy all I can get. I shrink every piece ; I have my work cut and made better than any one else (so I_ ought). If I were not the best Tailor in this city, I would deserve to be bumped, and that is a very severe punishment if properly carried out.— HUXLEY, the Tailor
