THE GOVERNOR IN THE WAIKATO. [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, 2lst January.

His Excellency the Governor left this morning by special train, accompanied by the Hon. Mr. Whitaker, Minister in attendance. The train arrived at Hamilton at 11 a.m. The Mayor proclaimed the day a public holiday. The volunteers turned out, and the whole population did honor to the new Governor. He received an address of welcome from the Corporation. Accompanied by a large cavalry escort, he afterwards left for Cambridge, where he received an address from the Town Council and laid the foundation stone of St. Andrew's Episcopalian Church.
