HARBOUR BOARD STATISTICS. [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.]

Christchurch, This Day. At the annnal meeting of the Harbour Board yesterday, it was reported that the gross receipts for the past year amounted to £155,216, and the expenditure to £92,414, which, including a balance from the previous year, leaves a credit of £106,245, reduced by outstanding contracts, &c, to £48,803. The quantity of mud dredged during the past year was 272,340 cubic yards. The number of vessels which arrived was 1725, with a tonnage of 342,605 ; the previous year 1658 vessels of 329,175 tons arrived. The departures numbered 1723 vessels of 337,640 tons ; the previous year 1695 vessels of 338,044 tona. The works contemplated by the Board for the current year include new sheds, two new breastworks, extension of three jetties, and a slip for vessels up to 300 tons. Dunedin, This Day. The Harbour Board receipts for 1880 amounted to £833,814 (?), and the expenditure to £82,419. Last year's balance of £29,127 has been reduced to £1462. During the year 302,000 cubic yards were dredged at an average cost of C^d, and 302,000 yards were reclaimed at an average cost of lljd.
