The wreck of the ship Hereford was sold yesterday at auction for J27.600. The Intercolonial Yachting Begatta, held yesterday in Port Phillip, passed off successfully. There was a largo attendance on the flagship, and the weather was fine, with a good. breeze. The Grand Challenge Eace was over a 45-mile course, and was won by the Janet, which came in a minute ahead -of the Taniwha, followed by the Secret, which took second prize on her time allowance. There were six entries. All the yachts sailed well, and the finish of the race was very exciting. The Third Class match was won by the Zephyr. This Dat. Obituary— Mr. A. K. Smith, M.L.A. A two days' walking match takes place between Baker and Swan on Friday and Saturday next.
