Bradlaugh has refused to fight a duel with Laisant, of Paris. A deputation has waited upon the Secretary of State for the Colonies, and urged upon him the desirableness of concluding peace with the Basutos in South Africa The Earl of Kimberley stated, in the course of hia reply to the' deputation, that he had instructed Sir Hercules Robinson to seize the proper moment to intervene, with the view of pntting an end to the war.
