•? SAILING OF THE DETACHED SQUADRON TO THE CAPE. THE POWERS AND GREECE. THE REPORTED PLOT TO ASSASSENATE EUROPEANS. [REUTERS TELEGRAMS, j London, 12th January. The detached squadron is under orders to proceed to the Cape. It is understood that this movement is due to the Boer rebellion in the Transvaal. It has transpired that a general agreement now exists among the Powers that their Ambassadors at Athens should be instructed to endeavor to persuade the Greek Government to agree to arbitration for the settlement of the frontier difficulty with Turkey. Bombay, 11th January. Information has been received that the report received yesterday that a plot had been discovered among the natives of Kolapore to assassinate the European residents, iB entirely without foundation.
