WASTE LANDS BOAED.
♦ The fortnightly meeting of the Waste Lands Board was held this morning. Present — Mr. J. G. Holdsworth (chairman), Messr3. T. Mason, H. Bunny, E. Pearce, and W. W. Johnston. It was resolved to recommend that section 120, of five acre 3, Featherston, which had been in Mr. Hodder's possession since 1862, be set apart as an educational reserve ; that the Chief Surveyor be requested to survey 5000 acres or thereabouts of the Tokomaru Block into sections varying from 150 to 600 acres each for early sale, and that the river frontage be for the present withheld from sale ; and also, that 47 sections in the Kairanga Block and 33 sections in the Fitzherbert Block, as per schedule and at the™ upset prices shown thereon be offered for sale by public auction, at the Town Hall, Palmerston, on the 24th February next ; and that certain sections in the same block be gazetted open to purchase on deferred payments on Monday, 21st February, at the Waste Lands Office, Wellington, and Town Hall, Palmer•stoiK The- payment received for land sold during the past fortnight was .£1621 7s.
