?- THE ALLEGED ATTEMPT TO BLOW UP H.M.S. LORD WARDEN. INCENDIARY FIRE AT LIVERPOOL. ATTEMPT TO BURN DOWN THE DOCKS WITH PETROLEUM. NEWS FROM THE CAPE. ENTRANCE OF THE BOERS INTO NATAL. DESPATCH OF FURTHER REINFORCEMENTS. [BEUTIB'B TELEGBAMB. I London, sth January. An official denial has been given to the report circulated yesterday that a torpedo had been found under the bow of H.M.S. Lord Warden in the Firth of Forth. A fire broke out at the Liverpool Docks to-day, but it was extinguished before any damage was done. It has since been discovered that the fire was caused by incendiaries, who had used petroleum, with the evident intention of completely destroying the docks. Capetown, 4th January. News has been received from Durban that a considerable body of Boers yesterday entered Natal from the Transvaal, and marched some distance across the border. They came np with a detachment of British troops, and opposed its advance towards the Transvaal. It is not known whether any fighting occurred. Bombat, 4th January. The military authorities have received orders to despatch further reinforcements of Indian troops to Natal.
