STRONG COUNTER AGITATION. GREAT WALKING FEAT. [SPECIAL TO MELBOURNE ARGUS.] London, 4th November. The Powers are advising Greece to accept a smaller concession than that agreed to at the Berlin Conference. In a walking match at Islington, Lowell, an English pedestrian, accomplished the feat of walking 340 miles in 70 hours. sth November. The Government anticipate the failure of the indictment framed against tho Irish members of Parliament who are prosecuted for conspiracy and terrorism, but will abstain from demanding increased powers from Parliament unless there is a further development of outrages in Ireland. The trial of tho members and others connected with the Land League agitation, it is expected, will be protracted until the new Irish Land Bill is introduced. 6th November. The Land League agitators have issued a wild manifesto. On the other hand the landlords' movements and Orange demonstrations are increasing. Forty Orange clubs met yesterday, and denounced the Land League.
