Mr. Thomas Robinson wrote offering to collect the rates for a commission of five per cent., and to make a valuation of the district and attend the Assessment Court for the sum of £10. After sobs discussion it was resolved, on the "motion of Mr. Compton, that Mr. Robinson bo appoitrttd collector, provided that he was able to give security for the ram of £100, or such .Otter security of a satisfactory nature. It wift further decided that, in the event of Mr. Robinson finding such security, he be empowered to proceed with his task without delay. The Colonial Bank wa? then selected for the bestowal of the Board's business. The letter from Mr. C. Moody, offering the use of two rooms in the opposite building fox the Board's periodical meetings at the rate of £10 per annum, again r Cftme ( forward for consideration, -when* Mr. Compton moved that the offer be accepted. The motion having been duly seconded, the chairman proposed as an amendment that the Board should O3ntinue to meet in the Tramway Hotel, offerng the landlord a yearly rental of £1 for the use of the meeting-room. The voting on both sides was equal, whereupon ,the chairman gay«, his casting vote in favor of the amendment. The*^rtsult. of thedepn"tation to the Colonial Secretary yesterday morning was next reported by the chairman, and the subject was warmly dißcnssed, f the secretary being requested to communicate with the Hon. Mr. Dick, asking him to receive another deputation so soon as Mr. Batkin shall have made ida report on fie financial relations between tha Kilbirn ; e Board and the Karori-Makara Board.
