Lyttelton. 18th March. The N Z.B. Co.'a chartered ship Esther cleared for London to-day, with a cargo— principally ot wheat— valued at £16,000. bhe will probably take her departure early to-morrow. Mr. C. Turner's barque Jasper ha arrived from Maurltinß with a load of sugar for this port and Dunedin, for which port she is expected to sail to-morrow. 19th March. Thee.s. Graf ton got away for Wellington at 615 last evening. ¦ i The b.b. Waitaki arrived here at 9 this morning from Wellington, and leaves for Port Chalmers this afternoon. The b..b Bangitira left tor Taranaki at 5 30 last evening. i*iOTON. 19th March. The Taiaroa came in at 8.30 last* night from Wellington. NEiiBON. 19th March. Arrived, 9.30 a.m. — Charles Edward, from Wellington. ItXFiBB. 19th March. Bailed, 6 p.m.— Penguin, for Wellington. The b.b. Te Anau left Port Chalmers on the 17th at 8.40 pro. aud arrived at Lyttelton at 8.30 yesterday morning ; left again at 5 10 p.m., and arrived here at 9 this morning; experienced light variable winds and fine weather. She brought up the Botom&hana's passengers and cargo, and sails this afternoon for Auckland via East Coast. The Government steamer Hinemoa made our harbor at 630 last evening. She was delayed in arriving here by meeting with heavy B.E. weather. She -was not able to land all the telegraph polea she took up for Opunake, owing to the heavy sea running, but Bent them ashore at Taranaki. As Bhe had to be at Napier this forenoon she left '-*- ellington again at 7.30 last night. His Excellency the Governor returns to Wellington by her to-morrow afternoon. The Penguin, whioh left Napier at 6 last night, arrived here at 3 pm. The sea was bo heavy off the latter port yesterday that she was unable to land passengers and cargo, whiob she brings on to Wellington to be transhipped to the Te Anau, leaving for Napier this afternoon. The p.s. Manaw&tu, from Foxton, arrived at 4 p.m. yesterday. She had to take shelter in Ohau Bay for some time, owing to the strong southerly The b.b. Napier, from B.enheim, arrived here at 630 last night, and returnß to same port tomorrow. The B.S. Kiwi, with a cargo of grain from Lyttelton for the ship Eastminster, arrived here at 9 p.m. yesterday. She leaves for the East Coast on Monday. The as. Jane Douglas came in from Lyttelton and-Kaikpura early this morning. She leaves for Foxton to-morrow. The Wakatu left Wanganui yesterday afternoon, and arrived here at 90S this morning. Bhe leaves for Wangumi. and Nelson to-morrow evening. The topsail schooner Madeline, fiom AaelaSae; with a cargo of bark, was brought into harbor last night by Pilot Holmes The steamers Stormbird and Hula left for Wanganui at 9 o'clock last night, and axe expected back to-morrow. The p.s. Charles Edward left here at 10 o'olock last night for Nelson and West Coast ports. The s.B. Orafton will arrive from Lyttolton this evening, and leave for Nelson, Westport, and Greymouth to-morrow. As the steamer Wanganni only left Lyttelton this morning she will not arrive here until to-morrow morning. Work on the wharf to-day was almost at a standstill, owing to the very wet weather.
