THE BARQUE ALASTOR, FROM LONDON.
FATAL ACCIDENT— SEAMAN KTTiTVEP. This fine-looking barque. Captain Glazebrook, was towed into port by the b.s. Kiwi at 10 o'clock last night, bat, as Bhe has a quantity ot powder on board, will not be bertced until Friday mornings Afl we Btated yesterday, the passengers have all arrived in good health, and speak in high termß ol the captain and officers for their kind attention, to them during the voyage. Bhe left London on >b» 27th November, and the passige has been a very fine-weather one ; and, •with tfce exception of a Bad accident which is mentioned balow, nothing particularly worthy ol note ocourred. '.There are nojsoloon passengers but 26 steerage, whoße names wo published yesterday. When the vessel was off Madeira, one of the seamen, named William Day, was aloft loosing the topsail when he apparently missed his looting and fell to the deck. ' The unfortunate man was at ouce picked up, and on exainiiiing him it was found that hia injuries were very serious, the thigh bone being broken, shoulder put out, tind he also received concussion ot the bruin. The captain did all he could to relieve the poor fellow, bat without avail, as he died in four hours after the accident Messrs. Levin & Co , are agents for the barque.
