■» (PKR PRESS AGENCY.) CHRiSTCHDRCH. 7th September. The search is being 1 continued for the body of the missing man Vennell, who is supposed to have been made away with. The police have had iron spears made to pierce tbe sand bills, in case the body may have been buried somewhere in the locality. No tracks have yet been found. The Museum has been robbed for the second time A box of imitation gems were stolen, the robbers, no doubt, thinking that they were real. The box was found in tbe river. Two Greek fishermen, named George Soutard and Antonio Soutard, in the employ of a man named Colombus, took his boat on Thursday last and went fishing in Lake $llesmere. The boat was found this morning full of water in the middle of the lake, but the men were missing. They are supposed to ba drowned Their boots and pants were tied to the mast, and in the boat were their nets and a box of fish. The boom of the sail, the four oars, and the rudder were also gone. DDNJbJPIN. L , 6th September. A shocking sudden death occurred here late this afternoon. Mrs. Sohott, proprietress of tbe Argyle Boarding-house, whilst engaged in household duties, was observed to fall heavily in tbe passage of her house. The family at once summoned assistance, but she expired, it is presumed of heart disease, before the doctor arrived. Mr. Watt, R.M., attended the gaol this afternoon, and heard the remanded charges against J. Reid. Th.c prisoner was committed on four separate charges of embezzlement. NEW PLYMOUTH. , , This Dat.
