MEETINGS OF CREDITORS.

The creditors of J. Nash, builder, of Wellington, held a meeting yesterday to decide whethor or not they should pay certain claims for wages. It appeared, however, that the money in hand would only pay about 10s in the £, which the claimant* would not accept. They urged the trustee to get in the assets which had not yet been collected, so that they might bs paid in full. A conversation took place, but nothing definite was done, and the meeting adjourned sine die. A meeting of the creditors of W. Philp, contractor, of Wellington, was held yesterday, and the debtor was examined at some length with respect to his financial position. The meeting was ultimately adjourned, in order that the debtor might prepare a statement of his assets and liabilities. He stated that he was unable to do this, as he had kept no books, but the creditors ordered him to bring up a statement at the next meeting. A meeting of the creditors of Douglas Firmin, farmer, of Waiwetu, was called for to-day, at the office of Messrs. Buckley, Stafford, and Fitzherbert, but as no creditors appeared it lapsed.
