CHRISTCHURCH. 3rd July.

The criminal calendar of the Supreme Court commences on Monday next. The following cases will be tried :— Edward Ashwio, Frank Lewis, and George Hamilton, for arson ; David Wright, for forgery and uttering; Louis Moat, stealing from a dwelling ; C. W. Greenwood, embezzlement; JafobVogt, foreery and uttering ; James Harding, larceny from a dwellinghouse; Stephen WaNb, on a similar charge • Montague Dodd, larceny by a clerk ; Thomas Maddox, fraudulent bankruptcy; and James Dale, false pretences. The street tramways will be commenced in artwut two moaths. The centre station will be Brushed in a tew weeks. At the Harbir Board meeting to-day ihe captain of the Hotspur, which collided with the Rial to, had Ms certificate suspended for iiree months without pay ; and the chief mate ivts suspended for one month without pay, for laving written a letter to the papers reflecting itrongiy upon the character of the captain whilst the case was under consideration.
