AUCKLAND.' 2nd July.
Tho contractors fnr raising the Taupo finally abandoned the wrack to-day. All preparations for commencing woro made, when a heavy sea, coming in with the tide, carried away a portion of the gear, rendering all work utterly useloss. The contractors have boen mout unfortunate in the weather, this being tho third time the sea has damaged all the goar.
