IN«B8IBTr. GeorßO Carr pleaded guilty to a charge of drunkenness, ana was fl&ed 10s, or in default 24 hours' imprisonment. THB ITALIAN IMBROGLIO. Orlando v. Fernandez; Fernandez v. Orlando. —In these cases, arising out of an Italian imbroglio, cross summouse* had been issued. Nicholas Fernandez pleaded not guilty to a charge of assaulting Guilio Orlando. Mr. Cutten appeared for accused ; Dr. Buller appeared on behalf of the complainant. Guilio Orlando deposed that on the 24th April the accused came to his house and asked lor Pelosi When told that he was not there, he struck witness, and then bit his nose. Mrs. Orlando deposed that oo the 24th April the accused rushed ia and said, " Where is Pelosi.'* He then rushed at her husband, and she went out and get a stick, with which she tried to strike the accused, but he took it from her. She was outside the house ; he was inside. Asked defendant's friends to take him away. They said they bad nothing to do with it. tfaw her husband try to get him out. When they came out, saw the defendant bite her husband's nose. He then went away. John Holmes, builder, remembered the 24th. Saw the defendant in the passage between the buildings going on. Saw a young man who was with defendant, standing outside the house. Saw Mrs. Orlando strike Him on the breast with a rake. Afterwards saw the whole four together; the wife ot Orlando had a rake. Orlando had a broomhand.e ; and he saw her strike the defendant on the back with the rake JDid not ccc Fernandez's nose bleeding. Saw the complainant after the row ; his nose was slightly scratched.

Detective Arthur Warren, deposed that on the 24th April he received a warrant to execute on the accused. Did not arrest him for some time. Went to complaiaant's house and saw the marks of a struggle ; also saw a rake and broomhandle on the ground. Had a conversation with some of the Italians, but could only understand that the defendant came there to see Pelosi. Arrested the accused at the police station. He came ihere to lay a complaint against some people for assault. He was very weak, and was wounded on the hand when arrested. Mr. Baker, Clerk of the Court, remembered the complainant coming to lay an information. His nose was covered with plaster of Paris, or something of tho sort, there was a regular nightcap of it. Saw him the same evening, and subsequently. His nose was then uncovered, and was very much swollen, and seemed to be skinned. John Collins, Charles Hlkey, and Perotti having been sworn, gave evidence to the effect that the accused was in reality tbe injured party. Mr. Mansfofd having reviewed the case at some length, dismissed the case against Fernandez, and in Fernandez v. Orlando found for the plaintiff, 30s and costs, or in default the accused to ba imprisoned for fourteen days.
