Arrived, 10 ajn.— Southern Cross, from Wellington. Onehdnqa, 25th June. Soiled— Wanaka, for Wellington. Port Ghalmebs, 26th June. Arrived— Angerona, from Cardiff, 107 days out. Experienced a frightful gale in lot. 95, long. 116 E. The ship was kept before the wind, hvavy seae breaking on board. The captain and all bands were employed for 72 hours ia securing the cargo, whioh is railway iron. Napieb. 26th June. Sailed, noon— Hawea, for Wellington. OASTiiEPoiNT, 26th June. Sailed, 12.40 p.m.— Kiwi, for Wellington. Kaekouiu, 26th June. Sailed, 10 a.m.— Jane Douglas, for Wellington.
The s.s. Arawata, 1100 tons tons, W. C. Sinclair, soiled from Melbourne at 3 p.m. on the 18th, with the Suez moil, 35 saloon and 40 steerage passengers, 360 tons cargo, and arrived here at 9.30 this morning. Light south-east winds were carried until the evening of the 21st inst., when a strong south-west wind was met with, increasing to a gale, accompanied by fleroe squals and high breaking sea which continued until the 22nd; eased the engines on sighting land at 7 p.m. and proceeded slow all night, arriving at Bluff Harbor at 7.30 a.m. on the 23rd ; sailed at 4 p.m. and arrived at Fort Chalmers at 7.30 ajn. on the Sltb, sailing again at 430 p.m. ; arrived at Lyttelton at 7.30 a.m. on the 25th, soiled at 7 pan., and arrived here as above. We have to thank Mr. ~L. O, Miller for report, &o. The Arawata sails for Picton and Nelson to-morrow. The p.s. Manawatu left Wanganui, at 11 a.m. yesterday and arrived in harbor at 1 o'olock this morning. The ba. Stella arrived at Taranaki at 3.30 p jn. yesterdayr'af tor a very rongh possrge from Wellington,* having been compelled to take shelter. She left again at 4130 some day, and made our harbor at 2.30 this afternoon. The B.c. Hawea will arrive from Auckland via the East Coast to-morrow forenoon, and leave some day f or Ly tteltort and Port Chalmers. The steamers Stormbird and Tui, which have been bar-bound at Foxton for the last five days, arrived in harbor last night. They sail again to-nitiht— the former for Foxton, and the latter for Kaikoura and Lyttelton. The sr.s. Patea left Wangnnui at 11 a.m. yesterday, and arrived here at 1 o'olock this morning. 6 be lias not been damaged by the stranding on the Wanganui Bar. The Patea leaves for Patea this evening. The schooner Old Jack, came in from Fort Underwood last night. The steamers Napier and Lyttelton for Blenheim, and Wallace for Nelson, sailed last night. The s.s. Taiaroa soils North at 4 p.m. to-day. The steamer Jane Douglas will arrive to-night from Lyttelton and Kaikoura. ? >-
