[PER PRBBB AQBWCT.] CHRISTCHURCH. 24 June. A man named Moray is charged at Ashburton with attempting to cash a cheque,of which he was illegally in possession. Prisoner has lately been employed by Proctor Brothers, farmers. On Monday Mr. Proctor drew a cheque for fifteen guineas, which he threw aside as the amount was incorrect for the payment he wished t> make. Prisoner got possession of tbi* cheque and presented it. The case was remanded till Friday. An inquest on the body of Mr. Flynn, who was found dead at Forestdale, was held at the Amberley, when a verdict of death from exposure was returned. The funeral of Walter Hill, the actor, took place to-day. He was buried in the English cemetery, and his remains were followed by a large number of theatrical and private friends. This Day. A meeting of the unemployed was held this morning. A procession ot about 150 marched to ttie Sydenham Council Chambers, where a deputation held a conference with the Mayor and Councillor Poritt, who promised that the Works Committee should take the matter into consideration at their meeting this evening.
