4 A meeting of tbe committee of the Education Board was held to-day. It was resolvfd that competitive designs for a new school atNew- ■ towu, to co3t £1000. should be callpd for, subject to the approval of Hie Mount Cook Committee, it was decided that Mr. Donnelly should bo appointed to take temporary charge of tho school which is to be opened in tbe old building. This appointment is only of a temporary nature, as a master for the new school Is to be advertised for. It was resolved tbatthe question of the purchase of sites in Upper Willis-street and *t Mr. M'Nab's grounds be left over until the next meeting of the Board. Miss Kato Watkins and another young lady were recommended for appointments as pupil teachers at the Thorndon School, subject to the approval of the local committee.
