I need only mention the building g^ing up in Willis-street, Lear the Empire Hotel, tbe shed erected by-Mr. Palmer in Featherston-street, and tbe additions lately made -to the rear of tbeir offices on Lamblon Quay by Messrs. Hart & Bucklev.^to prove tht truth of this statement. If the regulations are still so badly drawn as, to be powerless to prevent this scandal, by all means let the City Solicitor have another try at amending them ; but if they are binding, why dees not the City Surveyor step' in aud insist that all buildings or additions shall be erected in conformity with their clauses ?
