' General Crown Lands Office, Wellington, 29th ApriL 1879. fIIHE Commissioner of Crown Lands for JL Wellington will sell, by public auction, on Tuesday, the 17th June, 18*79, at the Athenaeum Hall, Lambton Quay, Wellington, the under-mentioned allotments of freehold land, in Blocks numbered X., XI., XII., and XIIL, on the plan of the reclaimed land, in the City of Wellington. Lithographed plans, as well as conditions of sale, are now ready for distribution at the various .Land Offices throughout the colony. The plans contain the fullest particulars, giving the number of sections, with their area iri poles and tenths; also the frontage in feet and tenths. Each section will be pegged and num. bered before the day of sale. WRITTEN TENDERS will be received If at this office up to noon on Monday, the 19th May, 1879, for the supply and delivery of 100,000 Sleepers, to be delivered at Orahamstown, Shertland, Kirikiri, Puriri, Hikutaia, or Paeroa. They must be addressed to the Hon. the Minister for Public Works, Wellington, and marked outside "Tender for Sleepers, WaikatoThames Railway." Specifications may be seen at the Pnblic Works Offices, Auckland, Grahamstown, New Plymouth, Wanganui, Wellington, Blenheim, Nelson, Ohriatchurch, Dunedin, Oamaru, Invercargill, Westport, and Hokitika j at the Railway' Stations Palmerston, North, Napier, Ashburton, Timaru, Riverton, and Greyniouth ; and at the Post Offices at Hamilton (Waikato), and Greytown (Wairarapa). Telegraphic tenders, similarly addressed and marked, will be received if presented at any Telegraphic Office by noon of the same date, provided that written tenders in due form are lodged at a District or Resident Engineer^ Office by the same hour, and accompanied by a cheque on some bank in the town where the tender is lodged ; such cheque to be specially marked by a banker as good for one month, and to be in favor of the Receiver-General's Deposit Account only, and not to bearer or order. Competitive designs for proposed Town Hall i Municipal Buildings for Christchuroh, - 1 THE City Council of Christchurch are prepared to receive designs for a Town Hall and Municipal Offices in accordance with the conditions and plan of site deposited at the Office of the Town Clerk at Dunedin, ,Auokland, Wellington, Nebon, Hokitika, Qamaru, Timaru, Napier, Wanganui, Inveroargill, and Christohurch. Premiums offered are £100 for the best design, and £50 for the second. Designs addressed to the Town Clerk are to be sent to the Town Clerk's Office, Christchurch, by noon of the 14th July. 1879. .
