Matanra, Shanks, 48; Kinross, 3. Woodlands, Sbanks, 15 ; Kinross, 13. Roslin Bush. Shanks, 0; Kinross, 31. Wyndbam, Shanks, 62 ; Kinross, 3. Total— Shanks, 288 ; Kinross, 249. The Fortrose return is not yet to band, but is sure to increase Shanks' majority. The educational statistics of Southland district for the quarter ending the 31st of December are as follows :— Attendance at the beginning of tbe quarter, 2976; at the end of the Jjuurter, 3976; average number on the roX^OOO; strict average, 2466; working average! 2507.
