Farris, for tbe sum of £1600." There was a large attendance at Messrs. T. Kennedy Macdonald and Co.'s sale of the township of 'Carterton North, this afternoon. The sections were selling at from 26s to 35s per foot when we went to press. We (Manawatu Tiroes) are pleased to hear that steps are being taken for convening a meeting at au early date for the purpose of impressing on the Government the necessity of taking some steps for proceeding with the survey of the West Coast railway. We are requested to call attention to Messrs Augarde and Co.'a usual weekly sale, also to the Laud for sale. Several freehold sites in town are to be sold at auction on Tuesday next by A. A. Barnett, and we are assured the demand for land in good situations ia as active as ever. The antipathy of physicians to recommend anything to their patients that is not within the range of their own formulas and prescriptions, argues a lack of confidence in the specifics that are compounded to meet the requisitions of divers diseases.
