GISBORNE. 4th September.
Great indignation is expressed here at Poverty Bay being totally ignored in tbe Public Works Statement. A large meeting is to be held to urge the Government to do something. In this district not a penny has been spent yet. This is felt to be very hard, especially after the promises made by the Premier when he visited here. Both the Herald and Standard write very warmly on the subject. The Marionnettes are doing au enormous business Houses crowded nightly.
