The Government have accepted the tender of tbe P. and O. Company for the conveyance of the Indian and China mails for eight years, from February, 1880. i In the cricket match the first innings of the Eighteen closed for 131 . Australians have three out Tor 190 V "Bailey, not ouf^TOO;' Murdoch, not out. 1. The first innings of the Australians closed for 260. Bailey, 106 ; Murdoch, 73. Second innings of Hastings— B2. Sppfforth.took. | twelve wickets. The Australians won in one innings, with 47 runs to spare.
