The b.b. Taranaki sailed from Onehunga wharf at 12.30 p.ru. on the 23rd, and arrived off Taranaki at 7 the following morning, having experienced a fresn N.w. breeze and thick weather, •with rain and heavy beam sea ; left again at 9.30 a.m., and had a fine run to Nelson, arriving at 11.30 p.m. ; sailed again same tide, at 2.30 a.m., arviving at Wellington at 10.45 this morning. She went South again this afternoon. The steamers Wellington, Tui, Napier, and Jane Douglas, sailed lust evening. The p.B. Manawatu took her departure for Wangauui at 10.30 this morhing, and the Wanaka for Auckland via the East Coast got away at noon. The brig Robin liooil sailed for Newcastle thin morning. Tho steamer Albion had not arrived from Melbourne up to 4 p.m. to-day. She will probably bo iv lato to-night or early to-morrow morning. The Tararua, -which comes from Melbourne via the South, will not be here until. Saturday morning. Tho s.s. Taiaroa should arrive here to-morrow forenoon from Lytteltou. She leaves again for the North at 8 p.m. same day. The s.s. Kiwi was launched off the slip yesterday, and came round to the wharf this morning. Jjho leaves for Castlepoiut and Napier oil Monday. The ship Gainsborough is advertised to sail for Ban Francisco on the 30th inst. COMMERCIAL. « Mr. G. Thomas yesterday afternoon sold several largo lines of general merchandise. Tho following prices were realised :— Henuessy's brandy, 33a case, in bond ; Henke's geneva, 11s case, in bond ; Denis Mounie's brandy, 80s case, in bond ; Long John whisky, 10s 6d case, in bond; Duuedin whisky, 24s cose, duty paid; Guinnesß's stout— quarts 11s, pints 7s 6d, duty yaid: I.C.
