Board of the Education District of Wellington, 11th April, 1878. XTOTICE is herebygiven that on MONDAY. X> tho 29th instant, at 8 o'clock in the evening, a Puhlic Meeting of Householders in each of the four School Districts of the City of Wellington, as described in the schedule below, will bo held in accordance with the following clauses of tho Education Act, 1877 :— 63, The first meeting of the householders in every school district shall be held on such day in the year ere thousand eight hundred acd seventy-eight, and at such time at.d plare as the Board of the district in which such s-chool districts respectively are shall for each appoint, and at every such meeting ths householders present shall elect, iv manner hereinafter provided, seven householders to form ths committee of such distiict. 64 On the foorth Monday iv the month of January in each year succeeding the jear one thousand eisbt hundred and seventy -eight, a public meeting of the householders* in every school district shall be held at a time and place to be fixed by the Board, and publicly notified at least fourteen days previously. At such meeting a chairman shall be chosen, and the committee for the precediag year shall give a full repjrt of its proceedings, and thereupon the electors present shall proceed to elect by ballot, as in hereinafter provided, a now committee for the then current year of seven persons resident within the district, and may re-elect all or any of the persons going out of office to be members of such new committee. Every committee so nppointod shall hold office until the appointment of its successors, and, if any vacancy shall oicur by doath or otherwise than by effluxion of time in any committee, the remaining members of the committeo shall elect a qualified person or persons to fill such vacancy or vacancies. At every meeting convened and held for the election of a committee, the chairman having a deliberative tote shall also have a casting vote. 65. At every election for a school committee every voter shall bo entitled to a numbor of votes equal to tho number of the committee to be elected, and may give ail such votes to one candidate, or may distribute them amoDg the candidates, as he thinks fit. All that portion of the City of Wellington lying towards the north of a line running Jrom tho southern boundary of section No. 621 along the centre of Tinakori Koad, Glenbervie Terrace, Sydney, Museum, and Bowen streets; thence from the end of Bowen-street along the southern side of the fence round the Government Buildings to the sea. Tbrrace District. All that portion of the City of Wellington lying between the southern boundary of Thorndon District and a continued line I through the centre of tho road from Upland I Farm through tho centre of Mount-street, Wellington Terrace, Church-street, tho southern portion of Boulcott-strect, Willis-street to tbo northern end of Section No. 205, and thenco to the sea at right angles to Willisstreet. Tb Aro District. All that portion of the City of Wellington lying between the southern boundary of Terrace District, and a continued line from the southern correr of section No 65; thenco along the south-cast boundary of same section to the centre of Thomson-street, and along the centre of Thomson, Webb, aud Cuba streets to the sea.
