SALE OF WALLACEVILLE.

« This afternoon Mr. J. 11. Wallace offered to public competition 48 agricultural farm sections at Wallaceville, Upper Hutt. Tlie attendance of buyers was very largo, but the prices realised were not so large as anticipated, and the majority of tho sections were bought in at £2 10s. per acre. Before the salo Mr. Wallace stated that within the last fow days l:e had twice been offered £10,000 for the 2000 acres in one block. The land was divided into ol acre section", except in a fow instances, in which the allotments were larger or smaller, to suit the conformation of thevalley. Theflrst section fell to Mr. G. Wright at £3 15s per acre 5 the second, third, ami fourth to Mr. B. Smith, for £2 5s and £2 10a per acre; lot o was knocked down to Mr. R. J. Duncan, at £2 10s per acre; and Mr. Houchin purchased the opposite section at the same figure. Lot 18 was knocked down to Mr. Whitehouse, at £3 us an acre ; lot Wto Mr. Fudney, at £3 10s; lot 20, Mr. J. Maeinnity, at £3 2* 6d ; lots 2l and 22, Mr. F. A. Krull, at £3 7s (id and £4 5s respectively ; Jot 20, Mr. Parkes, at £3 ; lot 27, Mr. R. J. Duncan, at £3; lot 17, Mr. K. J. Duncan, at £3 2s Gd : lot 10, Mr. Howarth, at £2 los ; lot 28, Mr. F. Read, at £2 10s ; lot 10, Mr. Duncan, at £2 10s. This concluded the sale of the suburban sections f tho remainder being bought in. The sale ot the Wallaceville town sections was proceeding when we went to press.
