AUCKLAND. 16th March.
A destructive fire occurred at Eden Terrace last night. Souter"s brewery and two houses were destroyed. The damage was great. Insurance, New Zealand oflice, £1300; Union, £875 ; National, £600. " A steam thrashing machine was working at Wh'au when a "man's foot was caught in the hopper by" the revolving drum. Tne leg was afterwards amputated above the thigh, but the man expired.
