SYDNEY. 15th March.

The Orient Line steamship Chimborazo, of 3825 tons, and 600 horse-power, Captain Vine Hall, struck on the rocks near the entrance to Jervis Bay, and afterwards drifted into the bay. A ketch which was close at hand came to her assistance, and landed all her passengers safely. Typhoid fever is raging to a fearful extent near Sydney, and numerous deaths have occurred. Messrs. H. Carter & Co., of Melbourne, grain merchants, have called their creditors together. Their liabilities are estimated at £10,000. Their assets are very small. Chester is the favorite for the Cup and the St. Ledger.
