Arrived, early — Tararua, from Wellington. Wkstpobt, 11th September. Arrived, 10.15 a.m.— Luna, from Wellington. Hokitika, 11th September The s.B. Claud Hamilton has arrived. She left Sandridge at 2 p.m. on the sth. Had moderate weather throughout. Passengers for Wellington: Mr. and Mrs. Hutcheson, Mrs. Hogg, Mr. Heyze, Mr. Hawker, and Bey. Mr. Brown ; 1 steerage. Cargo : 140 tons.

? The s.s. Wanaka, with the inward Son Francisco mail, arrived in harbor at 1 o'clock this morning. She left the Manukau on the Bth, Tiiranaki on tho 9th, Nelson at 10 ajn. yesterday, and Picton at 7.80 p.m. arriving hero aa stated above. She went South at 2.30 thia afternoon. Tho s.s. Napier left Blenheim at 7 last ovening, and arrived here at 2 o'clock this morning. She returns to Blonhoiin to-iiight. The s.s. Jane Douglas left Rangitikei at 11 a.m. yesterday, but, in consequence of the heavy southerly gale, had to take shelter i-t Mana at 0 p.m., when, the weather moderating, at 12 o'clock she started again, and arrived here at 4 this morning. She leaves for Wongonui at 6 this evening. The Government steamer Stella loft for the Brothers and Mana at 11 a.m. yesterday, landed two keopora at the former place, and returned to harbor at 7 o'clock this morning. The Stella loft at 12.15 this afternoon for Napier, with the San Francisco mail for East Coast ports. Tbe ketch Clemati3, which left Picton for Lyttelton on Sunday night, got as far as Cape Campbell, when a heavy S.E gale springing up carried away a portion of her sails, and she ran to Wellington, arriving at 6 p.m. yesterday. The sails being repaired, she left again to-day. Tho s.s. Tarorua, for Melbourne via the West Coast, took her departure at 5 p.m. yesterday. The favorable change this morning enabled the following vessels to sail :— Barque Elsinore for Auckland, ship Endymion for Newcastle, brigontine Exonia for Kaipara, and schooner Hannah Barratt for Pelorus Sound. The steamers ManawatuforWanganui, Stormbird for Napier, and Tui for Foxton, sail this evening. The 5.9. TaranaM went round to the Patent Slip last evening for cleaning. As we onticipated.thc steamer Claud Hamilton arrived at Hokitika yesterday afternoon from Melbourne, and will be hero on Thursday next.
